Understanding Self
Internal Drivers, Baseline Telemetry & Core Values

The Baseline
Finding yourself isolated on an island with only the open ocean ahead forces an audit of how you arrived. Historically, my default posture was to dive straight in and improvise the mechanics on the fly. That worked when the arena had established boundaries—when the career path still provided invisible training wheels.
Frontier AI shifts that equation. Used deliberately, modern computational intelligence acts as an equalizer and a cognitive lever, expanding the operational horizon far beyond formal specialization.
That realization triggered a distinct memory: standing at a crossroads after completing undergraduate studies in aerospace engineering. The safe path was to remain anchored in my full-time job. The open ocean was pursuing a doctorate in medicinal chemistry. Rather than choosing containment or expansion, I chose both—working full-time while completing the PhD.
Decades later, that same fork has reappeared. The difference this time is sovereignty: I am no longer navigating someone else’s institution or defined research tracks. The goal is charting what I actually want to build, and heading straight into open water.
Discovering Your Narration
The Shards and Deep Dives listed here map this process in real time. Because self-discovery is an active experiment rather than a retrospective case study, the models and frameworks will evolve as new data surfaces.
The work spans distinct categories—from cognitive architecture and systemic friction to somatic baselines—yet they inevitably intersect. In an N=1 framework, every inquiry ultimately resolves back to the observer.
